Auburn City Hall Entryway
Walking into Auburn City Hall is just a bit more pleasant these days
since practically the first thing a visitor sees upon opening the door
is vibrant artwork, prominently presented in the entryway display
cases. Arranged by L/A Arts, what is particularly special about this
exhibit is that the artwork is from
Middle School students from both Auburn and Lewiston.
Cubist portraits in watercolors and mixed media images reminiscent of
Georgia O’Keefe were created by the Auburn students, while Lewiston
students’ work includes ceramics, block prints, black and white
etchings, foil relief, and creative name plaques. The works will
remain up through mid June.

(in
Gritty McDuff's corner window in Auburn)
Current on exhibit are still life paintings (oil on canvas) by
artist/educator Katherine Cargile.
Kate believes objects take on a character of their own through their
use over time and their associations with certain events. "Capturing
this essence gives still life painting a surprising ability to
communicate about the human condition." Take some time to stop at the
window and see these eye-catching oil on canvas.

Before Dean Sisco became the
Colisee's Business Manager, traveled the globe for 6 years with Feld
Entertainment, the producers of Disney on Ice, Disney Live!, and the
Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus and took lots of pictures. He
shares some of these on the walls of Willy Beans. You'll see
recognizable landmarks and sites from his working travels, many from
unique perspectives. You may have seen the sites on your own or in
other pictures, but maybe not as he's captured . . .
