3rd    Moving in the Moment (dance/concert) One of the Festival’s most popular annual events -- this evening of improvisational dance and music features contact improviser, Chris Aiken, and over twenty members of the Bates Dance Festival’s community of artists. A window onto the spontaneous choreography and playful creativity inherent in improvisation, this promises to be a highly entertaining evening of spontaneous performance the whole family can enjoy. 10th  Clancy Legacy (concert) Aoife Clancy, Robbie O’Connell and Donal Clancy first performed together at a workshop called “The Clancy Legacy” during the Irish Arts week in East Durham, NY in July 2006. It was the first time they had performed together in that combination and the show was extremely well received. 26th  Chinese Folk Art Ensemble (variety) Its members range in age from 12 to 18, and they perform a variety of traditional Chinese folk arts such as Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Taiwanese Drums, Chinese yoyo and Folk Dance. The purpose of the Chinese Folk Art Workshop is to highlight the beauty of Chinese Folk Arts and to help a new generation of American-born Chinese showcase their talents and gifts. 31st  Vishten (concert) Touring their brand of new-traditional Acadian music in over 1000 performances rendered in 8 different countries. Made up of third generation Acadians living separate but parallel
musical experiences, twin sisters Pastelle and Emmanuelle LeBlanc from Prince Edward Island, Canada, have teamed up with Pascal Miousse and Louis-Charles Vigneau from the nearby Magdelen Islands to create a sound that incorporates elements of the new ways while retaining and staying true to the essential Acadian spirit of their roots.
