May 14 – June 14, 2008 Mystical Maine Waters This opening exhibit for the new Community Gallery is the The Capital Area Camera Club's Annual Invitational Photography Exhibit and revolves around Maine's abundant water sources. Photographs include fine art black and white traditional prints, digital images, and color film prints. FMI: L/A Arts. June - August 2008 Weaving a World: Lewiston’s Millworkers, 1920-1980 This exhibit tells the story of the people who worked in Lewiston’s textile mills, their families, and the community they made. Drawing on oral-history memories as well as documentary research, the exhibit traces the millworker experience from the hard times of immigration and the Great Depression through the prosperity of the 1950s to the decline of the mills in the 1970s. This exhibit is the result of a partnership between Museum L-A and Bates College. FMI: Museum L-A June 1 – June 28, 2008
